Recycling Stations open to EVERYONE
No pass or proof of Redmond city-limit residency is required to drop off materials at the following stations. Event rules and regulations will be strictly applied to all event participants.
ENTRY & CHECKPOINT
Greeters will verify the acceptance of materials and proof of Redmond city-limit residency for resident only stations. Please read the following information carefully and follow the rules and restrictions, which are strictly enforced.
Hopelink will collect nonperishable food for those in need in our community. Possible foods: canned tuna fish, pasta, canned fruit, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, cereal, baby food, canned or jarred tomato products, and nonperishable juice. A cash donation, however, makes the biggest impact. Please write your donation check payable to Hopelink.
Emerald Parents Association will accept all reusable/repairable bikes for both children and adults.
Bikes will be:
PLASTIC PLANT CONTAINERS
Black rigid and round plastic containers only. Unbroken without cracks.
Accepting only(rinsed & cleaned):
Lead acid batteries: car, truck, marine and motorcycle. All household batteries (both regular and rechargeable). Please sort according to types: alkaline, Ni-CD, NI-MH, etc.
LASER/INK JET CARTRIDGES, CELL PHONES & PAGERS
The vendor can NO LONGER pay anything for all laser/ink cartridges used in printers or fax machines or cell phones for recycling.
Light truck, car and motorcycle tires. Bias, steel belted and studded tires are okay.
Clothing, textiles including rags, books, furniture, etc. Furniture items must be reusable as is. Tax receipts available. Any items that need repair will be accepted as Bulky Garbage which is restricted for Redmond city-limit residents only.
REFRIGERATORS, FREEZERS & AIR CONDITIONERS
Household units ONLY. Promotional discount of $25.00 (cash only) for each unit at drop off. The fee is for the safe removal and disposal of chlorofluorocarbons (CFC coolants) from those units. CASH ONLY ACCEPTED AT THE DROP-OFF.
Anything electronically wired or battery-operated (including flashlights). NO TVs, monitors or computers (E-3).
APPLIANCES / SCRAP METALS
Any metal, auto parts, metal lawn furniture, mowers (drain all fluids), BBQ stoves, appliances (stoves, microwaves, dishwashers, washers/dryers, hot water tanks), metal-framed doors/windows, screen doors, exercise/gas powered equipment.
$10 cash for each 5-gallon tank of butane, propane, Freon, or helium tank (free with its value removed).
$1 cash for each 1-gallon canister containing the same types of liquid.
Any cans that contain chemicals are not allowed but accepted through King County's Hazardous Waste Program: Haz-Mat
All mattresses and box springs will be collected as recyclable items. A fee of $18 (cash only) for each piece is charged to process and recycle either the mattress or box spring.

The following stations are for Redmond city-limit households only. An event pass or proof of Redmond city-limit residency is REQUIRED to drop off the following materials:
Broken furniture, large broken toys, carpets, toilet seat covers, garden hoses, non-recyclable plastics and non-construction debris. No sod or regular household garbage, electronics, or railroad ties, mattresses or box springs or anything collected in garbage bags.
STUMPS & LARGE TREE BRANCHES
Logs, firewood, and large tree limbs (a minimum of 4 inches in diameter). No sod, leaves, grass clippings, or tree limbs smaller than 4" in diameter! Vehicles not following the above description will NOT be allowed entry!
All types of lumber (treated and painted included): plywood, pallets, particleboard, dimension lumber, fence materials, etc.; all construction debris: doors, windows, carpets, drywall, floors, decks, window glass, insulation/roofing materials, etc. The following items are NOT accepted: regular household garbage, sod, or railroad ties.
BRICKS, ROCKS, ASPHALT & CONCRETE
Pure bricks, rocks, asphalt and concrete only (for example: no concrete with fence poles). Hardened concrete mix in bags is accepted. A maximum volume of 300 lbs (about 1/3 capacity of a half-ton pickup) is accepted. No large Loads which can be disposed of for a fee at DTG (8504 192nd Ave. NE, Redmond, 425-245-8015). Please call for details.
All types of ceramic sinks and toilets are accepted. Please REMOVE wax rings at the bottom and wooden or plastic toilet seat covers. Metal sinks and metal toilet parts are accepted at the Scrap Metal Station.
NOTE: Maximum vehicle/truck bed length is 10-feet; any vehicle/truck/trailer bed length exceeding 10-feet will not be allowed entry.The following materials will NOT be accepted at the Recycling Event
Washington State's E-Cycle Washington free recycling program, electronics manufacturers must now take back the E-3 for recycling.
Any size of E-3 unit is eligible for free drop-off (except TVs larger than 21" at curb.) All other types of electronics may be accepted for a fee. For working units with buy-back potential, call Computer Surplus at 425-497-1945 or visit its store at 16715 Cleveland Street, Redmond, WA.

Single-family Redmond residents can recycle, through the curbside recycling program, E-3 units (computers, monitors, and TV sets up to 21") along with a variety of other electronics such as VCRs, audio equipment, fax machines, printers, modems, networking devices, keyboards, mice, microwaves, etc. The limit for each acceptable unit is set at 2 ft. x 2 ft. and less than 35 lbs.

The Recycle Event accepts anything electronically wired or battery-operated (including flashlights) EXCEPT E-3 units (TV sets, computers and monitors). Please refer to Option 1 and Option 2 listed above for recycling E-3 units.
The Redmond Recycle Event DOES NOT accept any household hazardous waste.

Factoria Household Hazardous Waste Storage Drop-Off Facility

Days: Tuesday - Sunday, except New Years Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas
Hours: Tuesday - Friday: 8 am to 4 pm and Saturday - Sunday: 9 am to 5 pm
Limits: 30 gallons of gasoline; 50 gallons total per customer, per day. No containers over 5 gallons in size; no latex paint.

Medicines are no longer accepted at the recycle event, safely dispose of medicines no longer needed by taking them to a drop-box.

Only the following types will be collected (must be clean and dry).
Separate by type NOT color. • Packing peanuts: all colors collected in see-through plastic bags only. • Meat trays and egg cartons: all colors except gray collected in see-through plastic bags only. • Styrofoam blocks: all colors collected either loose or in see-through plastic bags. Please remove all tapes and labels. No other materials are accepted, such as urethane foam cushions, hot tub covers, expanded polypropylene or foam insulation. Paper Shredding
All confidential documents will be safely shredded on site. NOTE: Please follow the rules & restrictions for paper shredding below.
There will be a $5 fee for each box/bag beyond the limit of the first five free boxes/bags, unless you have additional brochures. If you are dropping off materials for fellow Redmond residents, you need to bring their brochures together with yours to avoid the fees when you have extra volume.
