Redmond Community Invited to Attend a Meeting About the Future of Redmond’s Parks and Recreation

Help plan a future where everyone plays!

REDMOND, WA – Join the City of Redmond for a virtual community meeting to share your ideas and feedback on the future of Redmond’s parks and recreation at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1. The meeting will also highlight results from the community questionnaire about the future of parks and recreation that was completed earlier this spring. Live interpretation will be provided in Spanish, Russian, and Mandarin to allow for broad participation.

“Ideas from the community have helped create the parks and recreation system we know and love today,” said Mayor Angela Birney. “We want to know what types of programs and facilities people would like to see in the future, so we can continue to build a world-class parks system.”

Feedback from the community meeting will support the update of the Parks, Arts, Recreation, Culture, and Conservation (PARCC) Plan. This plan guides managing and enhancing our parks, playgrounds, community centers, forests, and trails. It also informs future programs, activities, and events. The last PARCC plan update in 2017 resulted in projects such as new batting cages at Hartman Park, the continuation of senior center lunch programs, and the renovation of Westside Park to be ADA accessible.
