July 27, 2020

Police arrested a 53-year-old male on suspicion on DUI and hit and run after he was seen crashing his Mercedes into a parked minivan and leaving the scene. The suspect was also driving with a suspended license and has prior DUI convictions. He was booked into jail and charges are pending.

A man awoke to find his Honda Civic had been stolen from in front of his home overnight. Seattle Police located the stolen vehicle a few hours after it was reported stolen.

An unidentified burglar stole electronics and other items from a construction site office.
July 29, 2020

- Type: Unattended Children in Vehicle
- Case Number: 20-014139
After witnessing a screaming infant and a young girl unattended in a vehicle parked outside a grocery store, a passerby called police. The children's mother left the 9-year-old and a 1-year-old in the car while she shopped. The law states that a child under the age of 8 must have a person 12 years old or more supervise them if left in a parked car. Fortunately, the children were unharmed. The woman was cited for Leaving Unattended Children in a Parked Vehicle (RMC 10.52.215).

A woman was swindled out of more than $5000 when she attempted to buy a Corgi online. The crooks posing as the dog's sellers kept asking her to purchase more items to ship the dog to Redmond, like a COVID-safe dog crate and other requests. Despite making multiple payments, no dog ever arrived. The thief's true identity has not been discovered.

A prowler smashed a parked car window and reached in and grabbed a purse that had been left inside. There was no suspect information available.

A 28-year-old male is facing assault charges after he hit a convenience store clerk in the chest. The suspect lashed out when the employee asked him to not heat outside food in the store's microwave because of COVID-19 restrictions. The employee was not seriously injured.

Police are investigating allegations of assault after a male chased and beat up another male at the Transit Center. The victim told officers that the suspect was known to him as they had previous altercations. Charges are pending.
August 1, 2020

A thief rifled through an unlocked vehicle and stole two pairs of sunglasses. Evidence gathered from the car is being processed, but the prowler has yet to be identified.
August 2, 2020

- Case Number: 20-014401
A 31-year-old female was arrested after attempting to use stolen credit cards to make purchases at Costco. The store's loss prevention specialist recognized the suspect, who was involved in similar fraudulent activity in other stores. Detectives are investigating the extent of the suspect's criminal activity and charges are pending.

An unidentified thief stole several packages from an apartment mailroom.
