April 13, 2020

Two bikes were stolen out of an apartment bicycle storage area sometime during the last few weeks. No information about the thief was available.
April 14, 2020

A resident called police after he heard suspicious noises outside his house late at night. It appeared that someone had tried to pry open the living room window. The unidentified burglar was not able to gain access to the house. Police did not locate the suspect.

A fraudster scammed several hundred dollars worth of gift cards out of a man by cleverly posing as one of the victim's friends. The thief created an email account using the real name of the friend and asked the victim to send gift cards to his niece because he was having trouble with his bank. The case is under investigation.

An unknown prowler stole stereo equipment, a backpack and other items out of a parked car.

- Type: Residential Burglary
- Case Number: 20-007189
A thief took a garage door opener out of a parked car sometime overnight, opened the garage, and stole a motorcycle that was parked inside. Police collected evidence and sent it for processing. The investigation is ongoing.
April 16, 2020

Redmond police received a report of a common webcam blackmail scam that has been popping up recently around the area. The swindler emails the victim and claims to have recorded explicit and compromising photos or videos from the victim's webcam. The suspect then demands payment through bitcoin or threatens to release the images to all of the victim's contacts and social media accounts. The suspect, in this case, is not known.
April 17, 2020

Police responded to a report from a witness watching a subject attempting to break into a closed thrift store. Officers quickly located the 33-year-old male, and he is facing charges for attempted burglary and possession of motor vehicle theft tools and illegal drug paraphernalia.

Two people were arrested after driving around Redmond in a vehicle illegally equipped with red and blue police lights. The duo cruised around town in an Acura with fake police lights flashing and a siren sound blaring from the car speakers through their open windows. An actual Redmond police officer saw the impersonating police vehicle driving with the red and blue lights on, causing other cars to pull over for the "emergency responder." Police tracked down the suspects, and upon inquiring about their reckless and irresponsible behavior, the driver stated it was fun to drive around like the cops and he didn't know it was illegal. The suspect was corrected on the legality of impersonating police and charges are pending.

A thief stole boxes of files containing client information out of a company's storage space.
April 18, 2020

Two people were arrested after an observant apartment resident spotted them breaking into a closed grocery store. With the assistance of a Bellevue Police K-9 unit, both suspects were located and found to have stolen beer, cigarettes and a handful of loose change from the shop.

A car prowler smashed a vehicle window and stole a gym bag that had been left inside.

- Case Number: 20-007467
A thief broke into a package storage area at an apartment complex, opened numerous parcels, and stole the contents. The suspect's identity is not known.
