April 6, 2020

A truck was stolen from an apartment parking lot sometime overnight by an unidentified thief.

A 25-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of theft after he was seen by a store employee shoplifting numerous items of clothing.
April 7, 2020

A 23-year-old male is facing multiple charges after he menacingly threw bottles and other items over a neighbors fence and then broke into a vacant house across the street. While inside the unoccupied house, the suspect turned on multiple faucets and pulled out water lines, causing water to pour onto the floor in various rooms. He also smashed several windows throughout the home. He was booked into jail.

Employees at a local store called police after seeing two subjects urinating in the parking lot and throwing trash around. Witnesses told police that while the female urinator appeared to be attempting to be discrete, the male subject exposed plenty while relieving himself. He reportedly even jauntily waved at passing cars while letting it all hang out. The male subject is facing indecent exposure charges.

A parked vehicle blocking the entrance to a bank was occupied by an unconscious male in the driver's seat. When police contacted him, they found him to be showing signs of impairment and in possession of illegal drug paraphernalia. He was less than cooperative with officers and is facing multiple charges.

- Case Number: 20-006733
A thief stole a car that had was idling with the driver's side door open in a parking lot. The vehicle's owner was standing about 15 feet away and witnessed the brazen suspect speed off in his car. The stolen vehicle was found a few days later in Kent. It had been totaled in a collision and was towed back to Redmond Police so evidence could be collected and processed. No arrests have been made.
April 8, 2020

A 31-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after he crashed his car into a road barrier and showed many signs of intoxication. He was booked and then released into the custody of his wife.
April 9, 2020

License plates stolen off a vehicle in Redmond were recovered on a car in Bellevue, which also had its plates stolen. Those plates were later found on a car in Renton. Bellevue PD is working the investigation.
April 10, 2020

Police were called to a burglary in progress when a resident heard someone attempting to pick her apartment door lock. Thanks to the victim's description of the suspect, police quickly located the 27-year-old male in the apartment complex garage trying to break into a vehicle. The suspect was booked into jail and charges are pending.

A burglar broke into a school and stole several computers. The investigation is ongoing.
April 11, 2020

- Location: NE 109th St. and Red-Wood Road
- Type: Arrest

A witness called police after seeing a vehicle crash into a traffic control box at an intersection and then flee the area. Officers located an unoccupied vehicle matching the witness description near-by. The car had damage that was consistent with hitting a big metal power box. Helpful witnesses also provided details on what the two people inside the car looked like, and officers found them walking not far from the damaged vehicle. It turns out the driver did not have a license or insurance, but he did have some illegal drug paraphernalia. The two subjects were taken into custody and face numerous charges, including hit-and-run, drugs, and obstructing.
April 12, 2020

An 18-year-old male was arrested after he strolled out of a grocery store with a full cart of items he did not purchase. In addition to a bunch of ham, ziplock bags, and other items, the suspect had also collected an assortment of Mike's Hard Lemonade and vodka, so a minor in possession of alcohol charge is pending alongside the theft charge. The suspect accused RPD of ruining his Easter by taking away his stolen ham.

An unidentified thief broke into an apartment complex mailroom, spray-painted the security camera lenses, and pried open numerous mailboxes. Officers collected evidence at the scene and advised residents to make an online report with Redmond Police if their mail had been stolen. The investigation is ongoing.
