December 30, 2019

A 25-year-old male is facing theft charges after he opened his neighbors' mail  at his apartment complex.

  • Type: Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Case Number: 19-007874

Police investigated the theft of a motorcycle from an apartment parking garage. The suspect is not known.

A thief stole a company van from the company's parking lot. No arrests have been made. 

January 1, 2020

A 63-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of DUI after he was seen driving toward on-coming traffic, swerving off the road and hitting a pole. Sobriety tests confirmed the suspect was intoxicated.

Police arrested a 40-year-old male who was found trespassing in an abandoned house. The suspect is also facing charges for possessing drug paraphernalia and for having burglary tools.

An erratic driver in a stolen vehicle hit two police patrol cars and narrowly missed running over an officer. The incident began when police spotted a reportedly stolen car in a Redmond parking lot. When officers approached, the panicked driver sped out of the parking spot. The suspect then smashed into a patrol ca, reversed quickly and hit a second patrol car. She then careened out of the parking lot, hit a curb and narrowly missed an officer. Responding officers searched the area but the suspect vehicle was not located.

A 53-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of fraud after he paid for electronics with counterfeit money and then returned the items for cash.

A prowler smashed a car window and stole a backpack and wallet that had been left inside. The victim's credit cards were used soon after. The thief has not been arrested. 

January 4, 2020

A 65-year-old male is facing multiple charges after shoplifting at a thrift store, giving false statements to officers and being in possession of drug paraphernalia.

A thief smashed a parked car's window and stole a purse that had been left under the seat. The unknown prowler used the victim's credit card soon after in Bellevue.

A woman was conned by a caller posing as an official from a Chinese police department. The fraudster claimed the victim had been the target of identity theft and asked for personal information such as her Chinese passport number, driver's license number and address. The victim received several more calls claiming she was now a suspect in a crime and by people posing as Bank of America and asking for her account details. Police advised she not answer the unknown numbers, not click on suspicious emails or reply to any messages from the unknown callers. 

January 5, 2020

  • Type: Arrest
  • Case Number: 20-000287

A vigilant witness called police after spotting a male subject peering into parked vehicles and then entering an unlocked car. Police contacted the vehicle owner who came out to the parking lot to see if anything had been stolen. The victim reported a loaded handgun left in the car had been taken by the prowler. Using the witness' description, officers quickly located the suspect and recovered the firearm that was hidden in his waistband. The suspect was booked into jail and is facing multiple charges.

A movie-goer walked out of the theater to find his Ford truck had been stolen from where he had parked it. No information about the thief was immediately available.
