A man called police after a house guest reportedly stole his laptop and took off while he was at work. The suspect then attempted to pawn the computer, which had been flagged as stolen, and police were able to confirm her identity. The suspect is facing theft and trafficking stolen property charges.

A 29-year-old male was arrested after grocery store employees saw him steal chocolate milk, booze, candy and a Magic Eraser. The suspect attempted to flee from officers and is facing theft and obstructing charges.

A fraudster conned $800 in gift cards out of a company by tricking an employee into thinking the gift cards were requested by the company's boss. The employee received an email from the "boss" directing him to buy the gift cards and then call a North Carolina phone number to relay the card numbers. The suspect's identity is not known.

An unidentified thief unscrewed and stole two coin registers from check out counters at a local grocery store. The registers, which are those machines that dispense a customer's change, contained about $200.
December 18, 2019

Police arrested a 57-year-old male on suspicion of DUI after he was pulled over for driving significantly above the speed limit. Officers found a number of empty beer bottles in the suspect's vehicle and he failed several field sobriety tests. The suspect, who has been arrested before for DUI, was booked into jail and is facing multiple charges.

December 20, 2019

A car owner reported that someone had stolen a tire and rim off his vehicle while it was parked at his apartment complex. The suspect left the car propped up on a cinder block after removing the wheel. No suspect information was available.

A 22-year-old male was arrested after he crashed his car into a tree and then fled the scene. When police located the driver at his residence, he initially told officers that his car had been stolen and he hadn't been driving. The subject eventually admitted he was driving the car and is facing charges for leaving the scene of a crash with property damaged.

A local store called police after discovering a fraudulent check had been used to make a $3787 purchase. The investigation is ongoing.
