July 15, 2019

A resident arrived home to find the freezer in her garage was open and a bag of tools was missing. Officers collected evidence from the scene and sent it for processing. There is no suspect information at this time.

A 27-year-old female was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle after she decided to abscond with a rental van. The suspect apparently rented the van for one day using a prepaid credit card and then just kept it for 10 more days. The rental company called police who located the vehicle and the suspect a few hours later and returned the van to the rightful owners.

A woman reported that a burglar had entered her garage by using the remote door opener that had been stolen out of her car a few days earlier. The victim heard her garage door open and saw an unknown person in a green sedan in her garage. The suspect quickly backed out of the garage and took off. Nothing was stolen and the suspect's identity is not currently known.

A cook reported that his knife bag containing a set of Japanese knives was stolen out of his car sometime over the last 24 hours. There was no sign of forced entry on the car and no information on who might have stolen them.

Redmond police investigated a shoplift after a store employee reported a thief stole several items of clothing.

A vigilant four-year-old witnessed a thief steal a wallet out of his distracted Mom's purse while they were grocery shopping and was able to provide a description of the pickpocket to police. The victim quickly cancelled her credit cards upon being informed of the theft by the small crime fighter, but the suspect had already racked up nearly $8000 in purchases at local stores. The investigation is ongoing.

A prowler stole a purse that had been left inside an unlocked vehicle and made fraudulent charges on the victim's credit cards soon after. The thief has not been identified.

A woman reported she believed movers had stolen a box containing about $10,000 worth of her jewelry. The victim told police that only 20 of the 21 boxes of her property showed up at her new residence. Investigation is ongoing.
July 18, 2019

Police investigated a shoplifting incident after two subjects grabbed about $1000 worth of eyeglass frames from a local store. Police searched the area for the thieves but they were not located. No security footage was available.
July 19, 2019

A 22-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI after police stopped her for a traffic violation. The suspect almost fell out of the car when she opened the door and smelled strongly of alcohol. The officer also spotted a crushed up, empty box of wine behind the passenger's seat. After failing several field sobriety tests and blowing about twice the legal limit on a breathalyzer, the suspect was arrested.

A thief broke through a gate and stole a vintage truck, a trailer, tools and other items from private property. Police are continuing to investigate but the suspect has not yet been identified.
July 20, 2019

Police investigated a car prowl after a witness heard a window being smashed and saw the thief reaching into the victim's vehicle. The suspect took off in a silver sedan and was not found by police when they searched the area. The victim was located and reported nothing had been stolen out of his car.

A thief snatched a high-end stroller, a booster seat and a raincoat that had been left outside a resident's front door. There was no suspect information available.
July 21, 2019

A 24-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of attacking a female jogger on the Powerline Trail. The victim told police a heavy-set, pasty male had grabbed her while she was running and ripped the headphones out of her ears. She then broke out of his grip, yelled at him and swiftly got away from her attacker. Thanks to the victim's excellent description, officers located the suspect about two hours later sitting outside with some associates. He was taken into custody and is facing assault charges.
