July 8, 2019

- Type: Attempted Residential Burglary

A woman found a male subject had removed one of her window screens and was standing inside her fenced yard . Once spotted the male asked "Is it alright that I am here?" which was met with screams from the woman startled by the sight of a stranger on her property. The male left the area and was not immediately located. Investigation is ongoing.

A fraudster conned a woman out of $500 by claiming to be a police officer supposedly investigating some illegal money laundering tied to her bank account. The thief had even spoofed the Redmond Police Department's main phone number so it looked to be legitimately from the police on the victim's caller ID. The "officer" asked the victim to purchase gift cards and relay the numbers over the phone. Always be suspicious of government agencies or law enforcement asking for money or gift cards over the phone.

Officers responded to an alarm at a local pawn shop to find a male subject attempting to bust open the door with a crowbar. The suspect ran off with officers in pursuit but he was not located. Bellevue PD K-9 Unit also responded but the track was unsuccessful.

A thief stole cash, electronics and credit cards out of an unlocked vehicle. The stolen credit cards were used shortly after the theft. There was no suspect information available.

Police investigated a report of a stolen car after the victim found his vehicle had been taken from his apartment parking lot sometime overnight. The car was found abandoned by a Redmond walking trail a few hours later and evidence found inside was sent for processing.

Police are investigating the theft of several thousand dollars from the office at a senior living home. The cash had been in a small safe in the office and was discovered missing by an employee. The investigation is ongoing.
July 11, 2019

A thief hopped into an unattended truck that had been left running and took off with it. The owner had stepped away for a few minutes when he saw his truck driving away on NE 116th St. The truck was found the next day in Kirkland and processed for fingerprints and other evidence. July 12, 2019

A prowler broke into a vehicle and stole the victim's garage door opener and mailbox key. Evidence collected at the scene is being processed.
July 13, 2019

A woman returned from shopping to find her car window smashed and her purse she had left inside stolen. The victim reported she had been away from her car for only about five minutes and had left her purse on the front seat. The thief has not been identified.

A man reported his car had been stolen sometime while he was inside a nearby bar. There was no information available about who might have taken it.
July 14, 2019

A motorcycle stolen from the victim's workplace was found a few days later in Snohomish County. A Snohomish County Deputy arrested the suspect and charges are pending.
