Selected crime reports for the week of April 29 through May 5, 2019. This is not a complete list of all incidents that occurred in Redmond during this time period. You can also reference our online crime map for further information. 

April 29, 2019

  • Time: 14:10
  • Location: 9000 block of 151st Ave NE
  • Type: Arrest
  • Case Number: 19-002398

With the assistance of an excellent witness description, officers tracked down and arrested a thief suspected of stealing a truck canopy from a Redmond residence. The victim saw the 32-year-old suspect pull up in a truck, load the canopy onto a flatbed trailer and drive off. Police located him about 20 minutes later, booked him into jail and returned the stolen property to the rightful owner.

Two people reported that credit cards and other valuables were stolen out of their unlocked vehicles sometime overnight. No suspect information was available. 

April 30, 2019

A 34-year-old female was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting, possessing illegal drug paraphernalia and trespassing. The suspect also had an outstanding warrant from a previous incident.

  • Case Number: 19-002443

A prowler entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet, laptop, checkbook and other items. The suspect used the stolen credit cards soon after. The thief has not been identified.

  • Case Number: 19-002412

Police investigated a break in at a Redmond home where personal property and two cars parked in the garage were stolen. The suspects apparently gained entry by breaking into a car parked in the driveway, using the garage door remote and then entering through the interior door. Evidence gathered at the scene is being processed and the investigation is ongoing.

A car parked inside a garage was prowled after the garage door was accidentally left open. The unidentified suspect took a purse, wallet, laptop and other valuables. Officers gathered evidence from the scene and sent it for processing. 

May 1, 2019

  • Type: Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Case Number: 19-002466

A car stolen from a Redmond residence sometime during the day was located in Tukwila a few hours later. Tukwila PD arrested two males in possession of the car and booked them on multiple charges. The vehicle was returned to its owner. 

May 2, 2019

Police arrested a 29-year-old driver on suspicion of DUI after she was seen swerving all over the road and driving dangerously. Numerous tests for impairment confirmed the officer's suspicions that she was intoxicated and she was booked into jail.

A 25-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of harassment and assault after a fight at the local skate park. Witnesses showed officers video of the suspect throwing coffee on the victim and threatening him with a dumbbell. 

May 4, 2019

  • Type: Theft of a Motor Vehicle
  • Case Number: 19-002533

A Redmond resident reported that his car had been stolen out of his garage by a thief who likely also stole his other car a few days earlier in Seattle. The victim's first vehicle was stolen in Capitol Hill on May 1 and contained a spare key to the second vehicle and the garage door remote. The suspect likely came to Redmond a few days later, let themselves into the garage and took off with the second car. No arrests have been made.

Police investigated a report of a vehicle stolen from an apartment parking lot. The suspect has not been identified.

  • Location: 14700 block of NE 95th St.
  • Type: Commercial Burglary
  • Case Number: 19-002528

A thief smashed the glass front door to a local scooter shop and stole several hundred dollars worth of merchandise. Investigation is ongoing. 

May 5, 2019

  • Location: 10000 block of 161st Place NE
  • Type: Residential Burglary
  • Case Number: 19-002544

A man called police after finding a burglar had stolen items from inside his home while he was sleeping and prowled his car while it was parked in the driveway. The victim reported seeing the suspect run off on foot and officers and King County Sheriff's K-9 Unit arrived quickly and searched the area. The suspect was not found and has not been identified.
