A man returned from the gym and discovered his vehicle's window smashed and some personal property had been stolen.

An aggressive and verbally abusive scam artist swindled $2000 out a woman by pretending to be from Homeland Security and threatening her with arrest. The victim told police the caller had said she failed to file immigration papers correctly and to avoid arrest she needed to send money. The suspect directed her to buy Apple gift cards and relay the card number over the phone. The caller also coerced the woman into sharing her personal passport information. No suspect has been identified.

A company fell victim to an email scam that convinced an employee to give more than $5000 in gift cards to an unknown suspect. The victim received an email that appeared to be from her company's CEO directing her to purchase the gift cards to give to other employees. The victim was then directed to email the gift card claim codes to the suspect posing as her boss. The victim soon realized the account was fraudulent and called police. Investigation is ongoing.

Police arrested a woman suspected of shoplifting shoes from a local store. An employee witnessed the woman putting the shoes in her bag and called police. The merchandise was found in the suspect's possession with the security tags still attached.

A witness called police after seeing a man attempting to park, crash into another parked car, pull into a spot and then promptly fall asleep. The odd series of events, numerous signs of intoxication and an open can of malt liquor in the driver's possession led police to suspect he had been DUI. The 44-year-old suspect was arrested and booked into jail.

A woman called police after she was scammed into giving personal information over the phone. The victim received a call from someone claiming to be from a Texas Law Enforcement agency and informed her she was involved in a criminal case. The suspect requested details and asked her to send money to an "Attorney General." The victim refused and called police. No suspect information was immediately available.

A package was taken from a porch by an unidentified suspect.

Police responded to a report that several tools had been taken from a vacant house that was being remodeled. The culprit is currently unknown.

Officers were called to investigate a break-in after a restaurateur found the front door of his business smashed open. The unidentified thief broke open the register and made off with cash and a few bottles of liquor. Evidence gathered at the scene is being processed.
October 6, 2018

Police were called after a suspect snatched a woman's purse off of her chair while she was dining in a local restaurant. Witnesses briefly chased the suspect and his companion out of the building and down the street but lost sight of them. Officers and K-9 responded and searched the area, but the suspect was not found.

An unknown suspect broke into a vehicle by punching out a door lock. The victim reported that it appeared nothing had been stolen.
