An unknown prowler entered an unlocked vehicle, rifled through it and stole some loose change.

A thief entered an unlocked vehicle and stole a wallet and other personal items. While investigating, officers found a few other vehicles had also been broken into in the same neighborhood. No suspect was immediately identified.

A man called police after discovering his vehicle had been stolen sometime overnight. Another car on the property had also been prowled and the victim believed he had left his car keys in the second vehicle. Officers found the stolen vehicle a short time later and evidence found inside was sent for processing.

Officers were called after two suspects attempted to enter a woman's home through a basement window. The victim reported a male and female had rung her doorbell several times but she thought they were solicitors and didn't answer. She then heard banging noises in her basement and called police. Officers located and identified two suspects that matched the victim's description and charges are pending.

Two packages were stolen off a porch by an unknown thief.
August 28, 2018

A man reported to police that he had fallen victim to a computer repair scam. The scam is a common one, where a threatening looking "warning" flashes on a computer screen instructing the user to call a "tech support" line. The victim said there was an alarm and his computer froze up. He called the number provided and the suspects said they needed to remove a virus. The fraudsters then asked for remote access to the victim's computer, went through files and collected personal information. Police advised the victim to disconnect the computer from the internet and take it to a repair expert. Police also recommended immediately changing all passwords from a different device and to monitor bank accounts for fraudulent transactions.

August 31, 2018

Police investigated the theft of a vehicle after the victim found his car had gone missing while he was shopping. The victim reported the thief must have snatched his car keys when he set them down in the store. The car was recovered a few hours later in Burien but no suspect has been identified.

A man called police after he discovered his truck was stolen from a local parking lot. The victim reported he may have left the vehicle unlocked with a spare set of keys hidden inside. No suspect information was available.

Redmond police arrested a man on suspicion of DUI after several people called 911 to report seeing the suspect driving in a dangerous manner and colliding with another vehicle. Following the callers' descriptions, officers located the 55-tear-old suspect, found evidence he was driving while intoxicated, and booked him into jail.

A man reported being scammed of a fraudulent phone call by people claiming to be from the FBI. The victim was told he had been found not guilty in a criminal investigation but needed to pay a fine to avoid a civil suit. The suspects convinced the victim to send more than $2000 to an account in the Dominican Republic. There were no known suspects at the time of the initial investigation.

A vehicle parked in a local gym parking lot was broken into and several pieces of personal property and ID were stolen. The victim reported his credit cards were used shortly after at a local discount store. No suspect information was immediately available.
