Redmond Police Department is hosting two Coffee with a Cop events on October 3 in an effort to provide an opportunity for our community to ask us questions, raise concerns and get to know the Officers that serve the City of Redmond.
We will have two events on October 3: 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Redmond Town Center Starbucks 7425 166th Ave NE, C-105, Redmond & 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. at 5 Stones Coffee Co. 8102 161st Ave NE, Redmond
The mission of Coffee with a Cop is to break down the barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve. Coffee with a Cop is a national movement which focuses on building relationships between law enforcement and community members. It brings people together at neutral locations to foster real conversations about issues that matter. In a short time, citizens and police officers get to know each other and discover mutual goals for the communities they live in and serve. The program was started in 2011 by the Hawthorne, California Police Department and has created thousands of successful events. The key to this successful growth is that the program opens the door for interactions outside of the crisis situations that typically bring law enforcement officers and community members together. The Redmond Police Department joined the movement in June of 2015 and has held many events so far. We enjoy getting to know community members, answering their questions and building lasting relationships. For more information please visit coffeewithacop.com.
