Redmond, WA - A 21-year-old male suspected of committing a spree of illegal activity around the city was charged for multiple felony crimes last week. The suspect is currently being held in King County Jail on more than $45,000 bail.
Over March 25 and 26, Redmond officers investigated a series of burglaries, reports of stolen vehicles and other crimes in the Willows Industrial area and vicinity.
In one instance, a couple awoke to see the suspect exiting their apartment with their belongings. He also stole three vehicles that all had keys left inside. Officers spotted the suspect driving one of the stolen vehicles, but he evaded police attempts to pull him over. During the pursuit the suspect narrowly missed striking an officer who was deploying stop sticks.
Redmond police recovered the stolen vehicles and collected evidence left behind by the suspect. Quick processing of evidence by King County AFIS and excellent security footage provided by victims helped detectives identify Logan Malcom of Tacoma as the responsible party.
While Redmond detectives were compiling evidence and identifying the suspect, he continued his crime spree around the region. On April 3 he was arrested in Sumner for possession of a stolen car.
As investigators pieced together the crimes committed in Redmond, they discovered he had also been flagrantly breaking laws in Woodinville, Mercer Island, Pierce County and other communities around the area.
Redmond detectives believe the suspect to be responsible for the following:
- Residential Burglary (two counts)
- Theft of a Motor Vehicle (two counts)
- Possession of a Stolen Vehicle (3 counts)
- Attempting to Elude Police Vehicle
- Possession of a Stolen Vehicle (3 counts)
- Theft 2nd Degree
- Criminal Attempt
