REDMOND, WA - Redmond police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred Wednesday night at Safeway at 15000 NE 24th St. Just after 11 p.m., an employee saw two males leave the store with a basket of stolen merchandise. The employee called out to the two thieves as they fled and one of them turned and pointed a pistol at him. The employee said the suspects did not make any threats or say anything to anyone in the store. They fled the area westbound on NE 24th St. in a white Honda CRV. Police canvassed the area but the suspects were not located. The suspects were described as Hispanic males in their 20s, both wearing baseball hats. One was wearing a Mariners jacket and the other had on a grey shirt and light pants. According to store employees the thieves made off with about $100 in groceries. This investigation is ongoing and more information will be released when available.
