February 18, 2019

  • Location: 7600 block of 159th Place NE
  • Case Number: 19-000933

A man reported an unknown suspect contacted him online and attempted to extort money out of him. The suspect threatened to send illicit photos of the victim to his friends and family if he did not pay. No further information about the suspect was available.

  • Case Number: 19-000918

A thief broke into a bank of mailboxes, stole a couple's credit cards and then used them soon after at local stores. Officers are continuing to investigate but no arrests have been made.

Police apprehended a shoplifting suspect and found him to be in possession of stolen clothing, suspected theft tools and several pieces of illegal drug paraphernalia. The 29-year-old male initially gave officers a false name and once identified, police found he had a list of active warrants. The suspect was booked into jail and multiple charges are pending.

February 19, 2019

A prowler smashed a parked car window and stole a backpack that had been left inside. No suspect information was available.

  • Case Number: 19-000947

An unknown thief broke into a building and stole a laptop off of a desk. The suspect apparently gained entry by removing a piece of the wall-mounted air conditioning unit. The suspect was then able to reach inside the building and grab the laptop. No information about the thief's identity was immediately available.

  • Case Number: 19-000938

An unidentified suspect illegally entered an apartment complex leasing office sometime overnight and rummaged through drawers and cabinets. The burglar apparently did not steal or damage any property. Evidence gathered at the scene is bring processed.

Police responded to a dispute between staff and a patron at a local bar. The customer claimed he had left a drum at the pub about three weeks ago and came in to pick it up. Employees hadn't seen a drum anywhere, didn't know what he was talking about and just wanted him to settle up his bar tab and leave. The customer ended up being trespassed, sans drum, from the bar and staff declined to press charges for the unpaid tab.

Police are investigating a theft at a local grocery store after the suspects stole an unattended cash register and took money out of another till. Evidence gathered at the scene is being processed and the investigation is ongoing.

February 20, 2019

A man called police after finding his car missing from where he left it in his apartment parking lot. The car was found a few days later in Everett. The suspect's identity is not known.

  • Case Number: 19-000990

An unknown thief transferred $2000 out of a man's bank account and into another account without his knowledge or permission. The victim froze his accounts when he discovered the withdrawal and his bank is investigating the incident.

February 22, 2019

A man called police after a bag he left unattended and unsecured in a gym locker room was stolen. No suspect information was available.

  • Location: 15100 block of NE 84th St.
  • Case Number: 19-001009

A subject claiming to be from Microsoft attempted to swindle a few thousand dollars from a woman who saw through the scam and didn't fall for it. The caller claimed the victim was owed a refund and convinced her to allow the suspect to remotely access her computer. The suspect claimed to be issuing a $300 refund but then told the victim an extra zero was accidentally entered and $3000 was deposited. The suspect then asked the victim to return the mistakenly deposited money by buying gift cards and giving the card numbers over the phone. The victim caught on to the scam, ended the call and did not provide further information. The unknown suspect did not manage to steal any money from the victim.

February 23, 2019

  • Location: NE 21st St. and Bel-Red Road
  • Case Number: 19-001031

Police were called after a local performer found his truck full of DJ equipment stolen from its parking spot. The victim told police the truck contained thousands of dollars of electronics, costumes and other items he uses for his work. The investigation is ongoing but the responsible has not yet been identified.

A swindler posing as a man's friend conned $4000 out of him by claiming he needed a loan to fly home for an emergency. The victim wired the money oversees before being able to reach his friend who told him there was no emergency and he had not contacted him. The suspect is unknown at this time.

  • Location: 11500 block of 178th Ave NE
  • Case Number: 19-001030

A 29-year-old man was arrested after being found fast asleep behind the wheel of a running vehicle. Officers contacted the sleeping subject and found him to be exhibiting numerous signs of intoxication. The suspect was tested for impairment and booked into jail on suspicion of Physical Control of a Vehicle While Under the Influence.

February 24, 2019

  • Case Number: 19-001036

Redmond police arrested a 42-year-old male for having an outstanding felony warrant and attempting to evade police. Officers contacted the suspect in a parking lot and when advised there was a warrant for his arrest, the male took off running. RPD's K-9 Unit arrived a few minutes later and quickly located the suspect wedged between a couple trees in a nearby backyard. K-9 Remy also performed a narcotics sniff on the suspect's vehicle and indicated to his human partner that there was an odor of several types of illegal narcotics coming from the car. The suspect was booked into jail and multiple charges are pending.
