RPD has received multiple reports of bikes being stolen from locked cages in local apartment complex parking garages. The thieves are breaking into these cages and grabbing bikes that have not been additionally secured or ones with locks that are easy to cut. Police recommend securing bikes with U-locks (preferably more than one) and locking the bike to a stationary object. Also record your bike's serial number to increase the chance of getting it back if it is stolen.
