Dear Redmond Community,
The intent of the curfew tonight is for public safety, to discourage unlawful activity, and keep areas open for emergency response if needed. The City has enacted the curfew for the security of the community and we are requesting voluntary compliance. Citing individuals for not abiding by the curfew is not the goal or desired outcome, but a misdemeanor citation is permitted in the order.
Business operations and normal non-criminal activity (e.g. briefly taking your dog out, traveling to and from work) are permitted during the curfew. The level of disturbances and danger to people and property in the last few days in neighboring communities has prompted this order out of an abundance of caution.
This curfew is in place to discourage unlawful activity. Again, the goal is not to issue citations. The order extends to public places to including but not limited to parks, public facilities, schools, stores, streets, and sidewalks.
Sincerely,
Chief Darrell Lowe
