The Redmond Police Department is participating in the Pink Patch Project this month for the fourth consecutive year. The Pink Patch Project is a collaborative campaign among public safety agencies that promotes public awareness in the fight against breast cancer and supports cancer research organizations. This effort coincides with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
During October, Redmond officers and professional staff have the option to wear pink versions of the Redmond police patch.
“We are proud to join law enforcement agencies and fire departments across the country to raise funds and show our support for the millions who are affected by breast cancer,” said Police Chief Darrell Lowe.
The public may purchase the commemorative shoulder patches, hat patches, lapel pins, and challenge coins during the month of October for $10 each. All proceeds raised will go to the Seattle Cancer Care Alliance to benefit research and treatment of breast cancer.
To purchase pink patch items, send a check payable to Redmond Police Foundation at Redmond Police Department, Attn: Pink Patch Project, P.O. Box 98010, Redmond, WA 98073. Please specify the desired items and include a valid mailing address.
