[ARCHIVED] Downtown Redmond Art Walk Debuts in the Downtown Corridor

REDMOND, WA – The City of Redmond will celebrate the arts this summer, with its first Downtown Redmond Art Walk (DRAW) in August. This new, arts-centric event brings together Redmond’s local artists and businesses for an evening of art beginning at 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 17, in the Downtown corridor. This free opportunity encourages community members to support local artists, merchants, and vibrant arts organizations alike.

Participating businesses will feature local talent through exhibitions, poetry readings, live music, and more. Downtown Park will be activated by the City from 4 – 7 p.m. with art installations, performances, and live mural painting.

“Downtown Redmond’s inaugural art walk is an opportunity to connect with and support Downtown businesses and local artists,” said Mayor Angela Birney. “We recognize the impact community art provides for all, especially as a conduit to bring people together, celebrate uniqueness and diversity, and embrace individual expression.”

Downtown Redmond Art Walk is a free experience open to all on Thursday, Aug. 17. In addition to the art activations in Downtown Park, the City will provide a map for self-guided tours of the participating businesses that will showcase artists that evening. This one-night-only experience is made possible thanks to generous support from 4Culture.
