[ARCHIVED] Redmond to Join Cities Nationwide for ‘America’s Night Out Against Crime’

On Tuesday, August 1, neighborhoods throughout Redmond city limits are invited to join forces with other communities nationwide for the 40th Annual National Night Out (NNO) crime and drug prevention event.

Redmond Police Department and Redmond Fire Department are proud partners of NNO and offer neighborhood visits from 6 to 9 p.m. Aug. 1 by Redmond police officers, firefighters, and elected officials. All Redmond community members are invited to register and plan neighborhood parties by Monday, July 24 at redmond.gov/FormCenter/Police-9/NNO-Event-Registration-177

NNO is designed to heighten crime and drug awareness, generate support for local anticrime efforts, and strengthen neighborhood and police and community partnerships. This unique event is sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and is held on the first Tuesday of August each year.

“We encourage our community members to gather with their neighbors and invite us to share in their celebration,” said Redmond Police Chief Darrell Lowe. “National Night Out is an excellent opportunity to learn more about our community members and build stronger connections.”

When registering a neighborhood party, community members may request a visit from any of the participating safety departments. Staff will best match all requests and attempt to visit as many parties as possible. Please register by the July 24 deadline or a visit cannot be guaranteed due to high request volumes.
