REDMOND, WA – The City of Redmond is seeking volunteer Redmond residents who reside in the 98052 zip code to serve on the Salary Commission. The commission is tasked with reviewing and making updates to City Councilmember salaries. The City Council previously established by ordinance an independent Salary Commission to review and set their salaries. The commission reviews and discusses current compensation information such as salary, benefits, and other forms of payment commonly received.
Once confirmed, the Salary Commission members will be sworn into office in early February and will meet every other Thursday evening starting on Feb. 23, 2023. The Salary Commission will be asked to confirm updated City Councilmember salary decisions by May 11, 2023.
Appointments are for a two-year term, although the current scope of work is anticipated to be complete in approximately 90 days. All board and commission members are volunteers.
To apply, please visit redmond.gov/Commissions. There is no deadline for the application. Please note that the first review of applications will start on Jan. 9, 2023, and will remain open until the Salary Commission members are selected.
