Developer and Business Forum 

You are invited to a virtual developer and business forum on Jan. 11, 2023, from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.  The forum features components of the Redmond Zoning Code (RZC) Rewrite Phase 2 in coordination with Redmond 2050 amendments to Overlake neighborhood regulations. 

This event will help us prepare policy and regulatory updates that support diverse land uses in an urban fabric, and will have time for discussion on the following topics: 

• Discussing ideas, concerns, and opportunities as we prepare for future growth and transition from a suburb to a city;  
• Considering shared and potentially conflicting needs between development, ownership, and tenant spaces, particularly in areas that will see redevelopment;
• Identifying business constraints in response to displacement including adaptive reuse of existing structures and local, affordable commercial in new development; and 
• Listening to your insights and ideas regarding planned growth, balancing changes for economic vitality, and supporting our existing businesses to stay and grow in Redmond.

Redmond 2050 

Redmond 2050 is a periodic update to the Comprehensive Plan refining the city’s long-term vision, transitioning from a suburban to an urban city, and preparing for significant housing and employment growth while meeting the needs of the community. Part of Redmond 2050 is an update to the Overlake Neighborhood Plan, including significant changes to development regulations.

Redmond Zoning Code (RZC) Rewrite

The RZC Rewrite is a multi-year, multi-phased effort to update and improve the city’s development regulations. Phase 2 involves a large body of substantive amendments that address Redmond’s priorities including affordability and variety of housing choices, economic vitality, environmental sustainability, and transportation throughout the city.
