8/25 Redmond 2050 DEIS Public Hearing | Housing and Job Growth Location Options
Thursday, August 25, 2022
A Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, August 25th from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Redmond City Hall. Community members may also choose to join and comment virtually.
The City of Redmond is updating its Comprehensive Plan to plan for growth through 2050. The updated plan will refine the community vision, values, and objectives considering key themes of equity and inclusion, sustainability, and resiliency. The Redmond 2050 Plan will address requirements of the Growth Management Act (GMA) and accommodating growth through 2050.
Based on what we heard from the community throughout 2020 and 2021, we developed and studied three alternatives for how we can accommodate the growth anticipated for our community between now and 2050.
A Draft Environmental Impact Statement (DEIS) has been prepared to review three growth alternatives that were created to guide community discussion on options and opportunities.
In addition to an areawide analysis, the DEIS provides detailed environmental review for areas of focus, including growth in our centers and near light rail stations. The City also anticipates a Planned Action Update for Overlake under RCW 43.21C.440 and SEPA infill exemptions (RCW 43.21C.229) for Downtown and Marymoor where transit-oriented development is proposed.
