Future of Overlake – Policy Options & Alternatives
Thursday October 14, 2021
Noon – 1:00 PM | Redmond City Hall, Council Conference Room (CH149) – OR – participate virtually
Regional planning policies are directing 65% of new housing growth and 75% of new job growth into urban centers and near high-capacity transit stations (like our 4 new light rail stations) – for Redmond that means much of our growth will have to go into Overlake, Downtown, and Marymoor. Due to physical limitations in Downtown and Marymoor, more growth might be assigned to Overlake than to those areas. What does this mean for Overlake?
Join us for a discussion about what growth might be coming to Overlake, and what we want Overlake to look like. This workshop is part of a series of discussions specific to Overlake, and will touch on policy updates related to:
- Maximizing the opportunity for Transit Oriented Development around the new light rail stations
- Consolidating and reducing the number of Land Use and Zoning Categories
This event will be held as a hybrid event with attendance in person in the City Hall (Council Conference Room, CH149) or join online via Teams. The content will be repeated in the evening from 6 - 7 PM (virtual only) for those that cannot participate in the noon event.
