The City is using its Budgeting by Priorities (BP) for the eighth time to develop the 2023 to 2024 budget. By using lessons learned from each of the previous efforts, the City strives to continue providing the highest priority services to the community.
Your Input Shaped the 2023-2024 Budget
The City of Redmond hosted five public hearings on the 2023-2024 biennial budget, July 5, Aug. 16, Oct. 18, Nov. 1, and Nov. 15. The goal of the five public hearings was to gather community input about city issues, priorities, and fiscal matters before the final budget was adopted on December 6 by a 6-1 vote.
In addition to the public hearings, community members can voice their opinion about the budget through items from the audience at the Council’s regular business meetings on the first and third Tuesdays of the month or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org(External link). Also, there are eight study sessions scheduled in which the City Council will review the 2023-2024 biennial budget. The community is invited to attend the study sessions; however, public comments regarding the proposed budget will be gathered only at the public hearings and through the other methods noted above.
