Officer talking to citizens and childrenNational Night Out 2020 was canceled due to COVID-19, join us for National Night In Oct. 5 through 9!

You are invited – to your home! Join the Redmond Police and Fire Departments to celebrate 2020 National Night “In!” This year National Night Out was canceled so we are going to take advantage of your extra time at home to look at some important safety tips.

Register with your name, email and home address, and we’ll deliver a kit to your doorstep during the week of October 5 through 9. The kit will contain tips to keep your family and home safe from natural disasters, crime and fire danger.

We missed our annual visits to BBQs and gatherings with neighborhoods in August. National Night “In” allows us to still find ways to connect with our community and help make Redmond homes safer.

About National Night Out

National Night Out (NNO) is a unique crime/drug prevention event sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW). On the first Tuesday of August, thousands of neighborhoods across the country will be participating in this event.

Thank you to the 57 neighborhood groups who registered and participated with us in 2019.

Purpose

National Night out is designed to do the following:

  • Heighten crime/drug prevention awareness.
  • Send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships.

National Night Out is about individual neighborhoods coming together. Although we make every effort to accommodate visit requests, the nature of our job may prevent us from attending. We encourage party organizers to not make any promises to your guests, in case we are unable to attend.

Registering Your Party

Registration for Redmond neighborhood parties generally opens in late spring. Registering your event gives you the opportunity to request visits from the Redmond Police Department, Redmond Fire Department, Redmond Office of Emergency Management, and your Mayor and City Council members. We will try to make appearances between 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. that night. If you have a particular question or neighborhood concern you would like addressed, please note that on your registration.
