156th Shared Use Path (4300-51st)

Slide1

Overview:

This project will construct a new shared-use path on the east side of 156th Ave, extending from the existing improvements at the 4300 block to NE 51st Street. This project aims to enhance non-motorized access to the Redmond Technology Station while improving overall connectivity to the existing bicycle network. By providing a safe and comfortable route for pedestrians and cyclists, the project will complete a critical north-south spine on 156th Ave, linking neighborhoods to the north and encouraging increased walking and biking in the Overlake neighborhood. The project will remove the existing sidewalk and construct a 12-foot wide concrete path beside a continuous 5-foot wide landscape strip.  Pedestrian-scale lighting will be evaluated to enhance safety and visibility. Additionally, the existing trees along the street and behind the sidewalk will be assessed for possible removal and replacement.
