Redmond Zoning Code Rewrite Phase 3
Amendment Purpose
This amendment package will include updates to regulations in coordination with Redmond 2050 policy updates and other code amendments for process improvement, clarity, and streamlining. Also included will be updates to the Downtown Design Standards to clarify the purpose of design elements and to update guidelines and standards for urban building forms.

Updates to the standards are proposed to include purpose statements, illustrations, and standards based on pedestrian realm types. Your feedback on the preliminary draft proposals will support refinements and development of the final proposed updates.

Background:
During the summer (2023), the community voted for, commented on, and added ideas to our Idea Board. View the ideas and comments at https://www.letsconnectredmond.com/redmond2050/brainstormers/downtown-building-designs/.
Design standards are the requirements, located in the Redmond Zoning Code, that direct the form of new construction and major remodels. The recommended updates to Downtown's design standards are anticipated for review by the Planning Commission and City Council in 2024-2025.
