KayBae Art is a creative studio exploring organic, deeply textured, and delicate beauty. My works are inspired by Eastern and Western cultures. As a scientist, I take a trial and error approach to making art. The beauty of lines, shapes, colors, and space in nature and the manmade world fuel my creativity. Also, my art is unique because of diverse influences and an interest in time, color, and methodology.
Most of my art is characterized by linear rhythm, dynamic movement, and varied materials that, along with vibrant colors, create bold compositions. Incorporating a variety of paper and sewing techniques into my paintings result in a highly textured mixed media work. I work in acrylic, oil, watercolor, silk painting, collage, mixed media, drawing, ceramics, jewelry, textiles, sewing, crochet, and felting.
