148th Ave Bridge Repairs

Project Overview

The City will conduct repairs on the 148th Ave Bridge, as part of the City’s Bridge Repair Program. This project will include fixing asphalt on both sides of the bridge, repairing bridge seals, and repairing the drainage under the bridge. As part of the work, the City will fully close the 148th Ave Bridge on Saturday, August 26th and Sunday, August 27th, weather permitting. 

Work hours will be 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m.- 8 p.m. on  Sunday. 

Additionally, there will be partial lane closures during the weekdays between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. 

Why Are We Doing This?

The City conducts bi-annual structural inspections of all its bridges and composes a list of repairs during certain years. The 148th Ave Bridge repairs are scheduled for 2023. Maintenance repairs ensure our critical infrastructure is kept in good condition for a longer period of time. 

What to Expect

• Project is expected to last up to three weeks. The one-weekend closure of the bridge will allow the City to complete the work faster, thus shortening the total duration of the project and the overall duration of traffic impacts.  
• Lane closures and traffic diversions will cause traffic backups. Please allow extra time for travel through the corridor. Detours will be in place during the full weekend closure of the bridge, and additional notification will be sent out in advance of the construction.

Please plan ahead and give yourself extra time to travel through the work zone. Please be patient with the work crews and flaggers.
