Redmond Police Department Policy Manual
The Redmond Police Department Policy Manual sets forth the standards, values, and community expectations of the department. The manual is the result of countless hours of research, consultation, and review of modern police procedures, evolving laws, industry standards, and best practices.
Redmond Police uses the Lexipol policy system to provide an efficient process for creating and maintaining these policies.
Redmond Police Department (RPD) is accredited by the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC). The WASPC program certifies that the department operates under best practices and standards for law enforcement. RPD is currently operating with policy and a response philosophy in line with the Washington State law enforcement reforms of 2021. The policies are consistent with the model use of force and de-escalation tactics, as set forth by the Washington State Attorney General and in accordance with law (RCW 10.120.030).
To the extent that department policy may contain provisions more restrictive than state or federal law, such provisions are not intended, nor may they be construed or applied to create a basis for liability against the City of Redmond or any of its employees.
The policy manual is updated and maintained by the Redmond Police Department Office of Professional Standards. The policy manual is updated regularly and frequently; therefore, the following reports may not reflect the most current policy updates.
