The Entry Level Hiring Process

  1. Pass initial written and physical agility tests conducted through Public Safety Testing
  2. Apply at Redmond.gov, pass the screening process and oral board exam
  3. Pass background including Chief’s interview, polygraph, psychological and medical exams
  4. Complete WA State Criminal Justice Training Center Basic Law Enforcement Academy
  5. Complete Field Training Program, partnering with an experienced officer for 16 weeks

Requirements

  • 21 years of age or older
  • U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident
  • 90 quarter or 60 semester hours from an accredited college
  • College waiver for 2+ years LE experience
  • Valid WA State driver’s license upon hire
