We are committed to serving you by delivering fun and educational online resources to help you and your family remain active, engaged and informed while you stay home, and stay healthy.

This page provides virtual activities that inspire learning, encourage healthy habits and help maintain social connections through online sharing. While we miss seeing you in our facilities and attending our classes or services- we hope we can connect with you online through our Facebook page or during one of our live events.

Family Activities

  • Community Sing Along
    Join your community for our new virtual Sing Along, 7-8 p.m. every Monday until we can meet in person again. Find more details here!
  • *NEW* Family Campfire Sing Along                                                                                                                                         
    Every Friday at 4 p.m. elementary age children and families learn and sing all the great old campfire standards and folk songs. Bring an instrument or just your voice!

  • Positive Coaching Alliance
    Free 60min Coach Training for Youth Ages 12-18. This highly interactive course provides specific tips and techniques for mastery and continuous improvement in any sport, seizing opportunities to encourage and support teammates, and competing fiercely to win, but only within an ethical context of Honoring the Game.
  • Disc NW

    The City of Redmond’s Public Safety Department has created fun activities for kids and story times with police officers. Check it out here!
  • Radiolab for Kids
    One of the most beloved podcasts in the world reaches into its archives to create Radiolab for Kids! From "Do animals laugh?" to "What happens to my poop when I flush?", Radiolab will spark your kids curiosity!
  • Kidz Love Soccer
    City of Redmond’s partner offering some great online classes to improve skills at home.
  • Homecourt
    Basketball skills getting rusty? Check out Homecourt! A free app through April 30.
  • i9 Sports
    Indoor scavenger hunt, printable coloring books and We’re In This Together video.
  • Cosmic Kids Yoga
    Free yoga for kids 3+ to help them become stronger and calmer!
  • Woodland Park Zoo to You
    Woodland Park Zookeepers do live sessions every Tuesday at 2pm on Facebook with a different animal in their care. They feed the animals, answer audience questions, and share fun facts about the species.
  • Monterey Bay Aquarium
    Monterey Bay Aquarium in California has a live otter cam from 7am to 7pm daily where you can watch the otters play, feed, and interact. Take the otter quiz to see which of the resident otters you are most like!
  • Playworks
    Virtual Recess 3 times per day, 5 days per week.

    Once Upon A Dance provides children a joyful form of exercise they can share with their caregivers, fostering a love of reading, dance, and creativity.
  • Town Hall Seattle
    Stay connected but stay home with Town Hall Seattle as they move much of their  programming onto virtual platforms. Some free other inexpensive.  Town Hall fosters an engaged community through civic, arts, and educational programs that reflect—and inspire—our region’s best impulses: creativity, empathy, and the belief that we all deserve a voice.

Poetry Month Events

April is National Poetry Month and we’re celebrating with poetry events for the whole month!

Virtual Poetry Workshop and Showcase
Join Redmond Poet Laureate, Raul Sanchez, as he leads a free online poetry workshop, April 23, 2020 from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. On April 30, Raul will host a free online Poetry Showcase from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. Find more information and the link to join online here.

Weekly Poetry Challenge: Haiku, Limerick and Acrostic Poetry Forms

Starting April 14, 2020, Redmond Arts and Culture challenges you to a 3-week poetry challenge. Visit our Facebook page for a daily themed prompt and read below for each weeks poetic form. Write your poems and post in the comments for each day’s challenge.

Week 1 - April 13 - 17:  Haiku Challenge
A Haiku is a poem of 3 lines. The 1st & 3rd lines have 5 syllables and the 2nd line has 7 syllables.

Week 2 - April 20 - 24: Limerick Challenge
A Limerick is a humorous poem of five lines. The 1st, 2nd, and 5th lines rhyme and the 3rd and 4th lines rhyme.

Week 3 - April 27 - May 1: Acrostic Challenge
An Acrostic is a poem in which the first letter of each line spells out a word or message.
