The City convened a Stakeholder Group in 2016 that represents community members interested in aquatics, cultural arts, fitness, general recreation, senior activities, teen activities, and more. The Stakeholder Group assisted in public education and outreach about the status of Redmond’s community centers, demands for new or renovated centers, and to help gather community opinions about how to prioritize capital projects related to Redmond’s community centers. The group helped staff evaluate and prioritize the data collected from more than 3,200 people through this process and it culminated in a set of formal recommendations that were adopted by the City Council in June 2017. Currently, the group meets periodically to advise staff on how to implement their 2017 recommendations. Community members are welcome to attend and listen in to Stakeholder Group meetings and to provide ideas and feedback to staff at feedback@RedmondsCommunityCenters.com.
