Welcome to Redmond's Neighborhood News
Redmond's Neighborhood News is a place that you may turn to in order
to discover programs, projects, and opportunities for feedback related
to your community. This service is developed by Neighborhoods
Team, comprised of staff from the Long Range Planning division of the
City's Planning department. This group is always looking for
methods to bring community news to your doorstep and we would like to
hear your ideas. Please send suggestions to the group via
neighborhoods@redmond.gov.

New Metro Transit Now Connection in
Education Hill
King County Metro provides new
Route 221 transit service linking Education Hill, Redmond Transit
Center, Overlake Transit Center and Eastgate Park and Ride in Bellevue.
Downtown Redmond Transit Center Opens
The
Downtown Redmond Transit Center reopened on Saturday, February 9,
2008. This center is located at 16160 NE 83rd Street and replaced
the transit center that was previously at the same location.

Committees Forming
To learn more about how you may serve your neighborhood, please
contact the Neighborhood Planning lead, Kimberly Dietz, at 425-556-2415
or kdietz@redmond.gov .
Committees are made up of interested residents within neighborhoods
that have an updated neighborhood plan in place. Other
neighborhoods are either working toward an updated plan or scheduled to
do so in the near-term.
The Viewpoint Neighborhood Plan Update
2007 to 2009
The Viewpoint neighborhood runs along the western edge of Lake
Sammamish and Marymoor Park, it continues south the Redmond city
limits, turns north at 172nd Ave NE, jogs west to Bel-Red Road where it
then follows Bel-Red and West Lake Sammamish Parkway back to Marymoor
Park. The area
provides single-family and multi-family homes as well as a pleasant
array of public parks. To learn more about the neighborhood plan update

as well as opportunities to participate, provide
comment, and contact the neighborhood planning staff.
Overlake Neighborhood Single-family
Residential Communities Plan Update Underway
The Overlake neighborhood consists of many distinct sub-areas.
The two southern sub-areas which include the employment areas and the
Overlake Village follow a neighborhood plan that was recently adopted in
late-2007. The northern sub-area, made up of single-family,
residential communities, will take place in a neighborhood plan update
through 2009. To learn more about the progress as well as way in

Scenic Redmond Photographers
Welcome to Redmond's Neighborhood News, where you may discover
information about your community. As you view the pages, you will
notice photographs in the upper left corner of each page. To
highlight the beauty of your own neighborhood and immediate community,
please consider sharing a digital photo of something you consider a
Redmond Treasure. Photography is limited to public spaces, public
events such as restoration projects, and
public art. Street scapes, regional views, borders in bloom, or
other objects of nature are acceptable. To submit your photo,
please send a copy of the file on diskette, along with your printed
name, and contact information to: City of Redmond, 15670 NE 85th
Street, MS: 4SPL, Attention: Planning Department, Neighborhood Web Pages,
Redmond, WA 98073-9710. Please note that diskettes will not
be returned but may be picked up at the Planning Department will call.
