Critical Areas Ordinance

Stream Map

Stream Map Update
The City of Redmond is updating the Stream Map in the Critical Areas Ordinance map portfolio. This Update is based upon recent field reconnaissance work by Washington Trout. It also identifies Riparian Habitats of Local Importance. Additionally, definitions of Habitats of Local Importance and Riparian Habitats of Local Importance are proposed.

A direct link is provided to the Washington Trout website that summarizes the results of the studies they performed for the City. An explanation of how the Washington Trout data have been used by the City to update the Stream Map is included, along with links to other related sites.

No new regulations are proposed. Development near streams will be regulated under the existing stream regulations of the City’s Critical Areas Ordinance (Ordinance #2259).

Click on the links below to view the proposed stream map and map showing stream classification increases and decreases. Note that the stream map is a general guidance document of the City’s best available information on stream classifications.
