Redmond RiverWalk
Certificate of Environmental Achievement
In April 1998, RiverWalk received a Certificate of Environmental Achievement award from Renew America and the National Awards Council for Environmental Sustainability.  The project is included in Renew America's 1998 Environmental Success Index, in the Wildlife and Habitat category.   This index is a one-of-a-kind database filled with successful environmental programs.  To be included, RiverWalk was evaluated on four criteria:  program effectiveness, natural resource conservation, economic progress and human development.   It passed through a vigorous, three-stage review process:  reference checks and evaluations from independent local organizations, verification of program results by participating nonprofit organizations at the state level, and review by the National Awards Council for Environmental Sustainability.

Vision 2020
Redmond RiverWalk received a Vision 2020 Special Recognition Award in 2003. Vision 2020 is a regional strategy adopted by central Puget Sound cities and counties that promote a strong economy, efficient transportation, a healthy environment, and vibrant communities that are great places to live and work.
