Neighborhood plans are one of the ways in which the Comprehensive
Plan is implemented and updated. Currently, residents of the
Viewpoint neighborhood are preparing to update that neighborhood's
plan to address neighborhood-specific concerns and values, and to
develop and recommend specific policies concerning housing,
transportation, and other topics. The City Council is
currently reviewing the Education Hill Neighborhood Plan and in
November 2006 adopted the North Redmond Neighborhood Plan. Policies developed on a neighborhood level
may be applicable to the entire city, improving planning and
implementation citywide.

In addition to planning, the Neighborhood Program also includes
the Neighborhood Matching Fund program. The Matching Fund
program is an opportunity for potential funding for projects, such
as updates and repairs to entrance signage, plantings, upgrades to
pavers, and enhancements to native habitat. This program is
available to everyone living within the Redmond city limits, and is
offered as a matching grant at a maximum of $5,000. This
amount must be matched by the applicant in the form of dollars,
donations, and service hours. To learn more about the program,
please visit the
Neighborhood Matching Fund page. |
