One of the early implementation actions associated with the Overlake
Neighborhood Plan update is a parking management study which will
lead to a Parking Management Plan for Overlake. The Overlake
Parking Management Plan will support the development of the
neighborhood as a vibrant and attractive destination for shopping,
working, living, recreation and entertainment. In September,
the City hired Fehr & Peers / Mirai, a consulting firm, to conduct
the Parking Management Study. Work on this study will continue
through June 2009. The questions this study will address include:
- What are current parking management "best practices" for
successful urban centers similar to Overlake?
- Based on an analysis and evaluation of the recently updated
parking regulations and incentives for Overlake, are additional
updates recommended?
- What parking management tools are most appropriate for Redmond
to implement in Overlake?
- What short- and long-term action strategies are recommended
for managing current and future parking needs, including
financing and enforcement?
Three public meetings will be held on December 8 and 9 to learn
about and discuss three primary questions:
- How can parking support the land use and transportation
vision?
- What parking strategies are available and how can they be
used?
- What are the trade-offs associated with new parking
strategies?
The same presentation will be given at each session, so please
attend the one that is most convenient for you. All sessions
will be held in the Council Conference Room at Redmond City Hall,
15670 NE 85th St.
December 8: 1:00 to 3:00 PM
December 8: 6:00 to 8:00 PM
December 9: 7:30 to 9:30 AM
