| The Redmond City Council adopted the Overlake Neighborhood
Plan Comprehensive Plan and Community Development Guide amendments,
as well as related Group Health requested amendments, on December

review of the Overlake Neighborhood Plan and Group Health

Review page. The adopted
amendments include changes to:
- Overlake Neighborhood Plan Comprehensive Plan policies;
- Land Use Map in the Land Use Element of the Comprehensive
Plan;
- Development Regulations related to Overlake and the Group
Health Cooperative property;
- Comprehensive Plan policies related to the Group Health
Cooperative property; and,
- Adoption of the Overlake Master Plan and Implementation
Strategy.
In sum, the plan updates include
strategies to:
- Help Overlake Village (the shopping area) evolve to a vibrant
residential, retail and commercial neighborhood
- Address concerns of existing small businesses
- Plan for arrival of high capacity transit/light rail
- Improve walkability, bikeways and transit, and help address
traffic
- Create parks, plazas and open spaces
- Allow buildings taller than 6 stories in Overlake Village (the
shopping area) as an incentive for providing major public
amenities, such as park space
- Promote housing at a variety of income levels
- Phase additional commercial development
- And more!
