14th Annual Eggstravaganza
Flashlight Hunt: Friday, April 2, 2010, Farrel-McWhirter Park
Event Description: The evening egg hunt is designed for tweens, teens, and their families.

Volunteer Opportunities:

  • Event set-up
  • Hunt set-up (scatter/hide eggs)
  • Assist with games & activities
  • Inflatable monitors
  • Assist with refreshments
  • Tear-down
  • Traditional Hunt: Saturday, April 3, 2010, Redmond Senior Center
    Event Description: Morning egg hunt and pancake breakfast.

    Arbor Day: Wednesday, April 14, 2010, 4-6pm
    Cascade View Park, corner of NE 40th St & 162nd Ave
    Join the City of Redmond in celebrating Washington Arbor Day. Trees are important in reducing the erosion of soils, moderating temperatures, cleaning the air, and providing habitat for wildlife. Redmond has been recognized as a Tree City USA for over 10 years by the National Arbor Day Association. The annual Arbor Day celebration is a fun environmental education event for volunteers of all ages and abilities. Students earning community service hours, families, individuals, scout troops, church and corporate groups are all welcome.

    Redmond Derby Days - Saturday, July 10, 2010
    Event Description: Traditional summer festival. Components include - kids parade, grand parade, family entertainment stage, live music, bicycle Criterium, food, carnival, beer and wine garden and fireworks finale!

    Volunteer Opportunities:

    • Information Booth - answer event questions, direct volunteers
    • Set-up - assist vendors with load-in, distribute signage, distribute and set-up booth equipment and assemble beer and wine garden
    • Event programs - distribute programs to attendees
    • Stage hand - assist entertainers with needs back-stage
    • Tear-down - disassemble booths, beer and wine garden, removal of tables, chairs, garbage cans, equipment
    • Inflatable supervisor - supervise children's inflatable, maintain order and safety
    • Survey Team - Filter through crowd conducting surveys from attendees

    Redmond Lights - Saturday, December 4, 2010
    Event Description: tree lighting at city hall, holiday river walk to Redmond Town Center, food, music and entertainment, and kids activities. View the website information.

    Volunteer Opportunities:

    • Information booth - set up and decorate booth, answer questions, direct volunteers
    • Set-up and Tear-down at City Hall - decorate, assemble tents, prepare booths
    • Set-up and tear down at Redmond Town Center - assist food vendors with load-in and load-out, distribute signage and supplies around event site.
    • Blinkers - pass out blinkers on the trail
    • Food Booth Helpers - deliver supplies to food booths
    • Trail Hosts - assist entertainers along trail, prepare the entertainment site; turning on lanterns and heaters, facilitate flow of crowd, and answer event questions
    • Shuttle Bus Hosts - direct attendees to buses, answer event questions, hand out candy canes
