The City of Redmond’s wastewater collection system serves a residential population of
over 46,000. The system is comprised of over 250 miles of sewer pipelines
ranging from six inches to 36 inches, 4,000 manholes and twenty one pump
stations designed to lift water from low areas into the larger gravity sewers
that flow to one of two wastewater treatment facilities operated by King
County/Metro.
In the City of Redmond Wastewater Department, there is a strong focus
on providing high quality service, and being consistently responsive to
each customer’s unique needs and concerns. Wastewater collection and
treatment are among the most fundamental and essential services provided
by any community; and although these services are largely invisible,
they are by no means automatic. The operation of the wastewater
collection system is a monumental task, and one that requires ongoing
planning, maintenance and coordination to protect valuable water
resources, the environment and public health.
Each year the eight member wastewater staff uses the latest
technology in high velocity cleaning and television inspection equipment
to protect the city’s capital investment, ensure uninterrupted service,
identify potential trouble areas and verify the integrity of new
installations.
Our goal is to provide service that meets the citizens of Redmond
needs as efficiently and effectively as possible. For more information
