The Stormwater Utility Protects the Environment

Most aspects of the Stormwater Utility are managed through the Natural Resources Division.  The City of Redmond’s Natural Resources Division is a multi-disciplinary group of staff who share the mission:

"To Preserve, Protect and Enhance the Land, and Water Resources of the City of Redmond and Support Regional Efforts to do the Same."


Collectively the Division is tasked with:

  • Development and implementation of the Comprehensive Stormwater Plan
  • Watershed Planning for Stormwater Management and Habitat
  • Stream and Habitat Enhancement Projects
  • Management of the Stormwater Capital Improvement Program
  • Aquifer Protection
  • Monitoring of Water Quality
  • General Environmental Monitoring
  • Drainage System Inspection
  • General Environmental Education
  • Surface Water Education and Outreach
  • Drinking Water Programs
  • Recycling, Waste Reduction and Disposal Programs
