How soon will the City respond in patching a pothole?

If reported early enough, we may get to it the very same day. Our policy is to respond within one working day of notification.

Who is responsible for maintaining and repairing sidewalks?

Adjacent property owners are responsible for cleaning and keeping sidewalks clear for pedestrians. If a sidewalk is in need of repair, it may be either the property owner's or the City's responsibility depending on what initiated the damage. We assess each problem with an on-site inspection.

Who do I call if a street light isn't working?

Some street lights belong to Puget Sound Energy and others to the City of Redmond. If a street light isn't working, please call the us at (425) 556-2854 and we will determine ownership.

How often does the City sweep our streets?

We sweep arterials every two weeks due to heavy traffic volumes and construction activity. We sweep the residential areas every two to three months. During the fall when heavy accumulations of leaves occur, we sweep continually to avoid the possibility of flooding.

How often does the City perform roadside mowing?

The City begins mowing at the beginning of the growing season and continues throughout the summer. Vegetation obstructing the vision of vehicular or pedestrian traffic is our first priority.

What are the City's priorities for plowing snow during the winter?

We presently have three large plows for doing snow removal. We clear snow for hospitals and schools first. We then focus on clearing arterials, especially those with steep hills. View complete information regarding snow and ice removal from city streets.
