There are three disposal options for your electronics:
E-Cycle Washington Program
The Recycle Event does not accept TV sets, computers and monitors (the
"big three"). Thanks to Washington State's E-Cycle Washington free
recycling program, electronics manufacturers must now take back the "big
three" for recycling.
Redmond's E-Cycle Washington drop-off site is Mitronics, 17455 NE 67
Ct., #100, Redmond, WA (Map).
Mitronics business hours are: 9:00 am to 4:00 pm Monday to Friday.
Mitronics will also open especially to accommodate the needs of event
participants on Saturday,
October 2, from
9:30 am to 4:00 pm.
You may only drop off the "big three" (TV sets, computers and computer monitors) free of charge! Other types of electronics may be
accepted for a fee. Please call 425-883-8881 for details.
For working computers or laptops with buy-back potential, call Computer Surplus at
425-497-1945 or visit their store at 16715 Cleveland Street, Redmond.
Single-family Redmond residents can now recycle, through the curbside recycling program, the "big
three" (TV sets up to 21") along with a variety of
other electronics such as VCRs, audio equipment, fax
machines, printers, modems, networking devices, keyboards, mice,
etc. The limit for each acceptable unit is set at 2 ft. x 2 ft. and less
than 35 lbs. Pickup requires no advance scheduling between
September 20th and October 15th, 2010. You are still required to call
Waste
Management (425-814-1695) to schedule a free pickup for all other
dates.
The Recycle Event accepts anything electronically wired or
battery-operated (including flashlights) EXCEPT the "big three" (TV
sets, computers and monitors). Please refer to Option 1 and Option
2 listed above for recycling the "big three".
