Project Description: The
Abbey Road Pond is a large regional stormwater pond providing water quality and
detention for a large residential area, protecting a salmon-bearing stream. The
116th culvert replacement project in 2006 removed a fish barrier. Future
improvements to protect this stream are phased projects that will improve the
capacity, function, and maintenance access in the large Abbey Road Pond. The
first phase in 2010 will be construction of a new pond on City property adjacent
to the PSE powerline trail north of the Abbey Road Pond. The new pond will
provide additional flow control and water quality treatment for roads in the
area within an underutilized portion of City property.
