Give Crooks A Going Away Party!

On Tuesday August 3rd, the Redmond Police Department is asking neighborhoods to participate in the 27th Annual National Night Out Against Crime.  The police department, fire department, city council, and national sponsor Target will be attending parties between the hours of 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m.  We ask citizens of Redmond to turn their porch lights on and come outside to take a stand against crime with your neighbors.

All over the country there will be thousands of crime prevention block parties, cookouts, ice cream socials, dessert parties, and parades.  Other neighborhoods will be hosting, flashlight walks, safety fairs, poster and essay contests, and neighborhood meetings.  This event is fun for all and gives criminals a "Going Away" party by showing the strong stand our community takes against crime.  Get your neighborhood involved and receive a visit from special guests.

Information we will need by Tuesday, July 27th:

1.  Contact person, address, email, and phone number
2.  Exact location of the event (specific address, in a cul-de-sac in front of a house, etc.)
3.  Start Time
4.  End Time
5.  Event type (pot luck dinner, ice cream social, etc.)

We have a limited number of parties we can attend so please register your neighborhood early. Contact the Crime Prevention Unit at 425-556-2545 or email to get your neighborhood on the list!

National Night Out is designed to:

  • Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anticrime programs
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships
  • Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
