Tactical Unit
The Redmond Police Department Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Team provides professional tactical support to the patrol and investigations divisions when on-duty resources are deemed inadequate. The SWAT Team is used specifically for highly volatile situations such as arrests of violent suspects, hostage situations, barricaded persons, hazardous search warrants, and other similar incidents. The team provides a highly trained response force which emphasizes teamwork, safety, and precision. The primary mission of the SWAT Team is to SAVE LIVES.

Crisis Negotiation Unit
The Crisis Negotiation Unit is part of the Emergency Response Team and is used to safely resolve hostage and barricaded person situations, and other events in which their expertise would be required.
