In 2007, Redmond Police hosted its inaugural Polar Bear Plunge. The Polar
Bear Plunge is a fund raising effort organized by law enforcement agencies
throughout the state benefitting Special Olympics Washington. Police and
community members collect pledges and plunge into the frigid waters of Lake
Sammamish. Aside from the plunge, prizes are given away for best costume,
youngest plunger, oldest plunger, and much more.
